The Grammable Bistro — Media Kit

Dissolve delivers North America’s first (and only) authentic, hand-crafted gastro-photogenical experience.

Kylie Jenner, Kendal Jenner, the singing cowboy kid at Coachella, and now Hayden Kley. The world’s elite “instafamous’ celebrities are making way for the founder of the Grammable Bistro. Leave your preconceived notions about ‘taste and texture’ at the door and enjoy this too-close-for-comfort commentary on the quest for the elusive #foodporn pic.

Food that’s vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and inedible. Lighting that’s custom tailored to suit your feed. A passionate narrator who is only too serious. It’s all there over an artisanal montage of highly curated, non-threateningly attractive faces snapping pictures, and at the end of the day, leaving hungry.

Living the Dream — Media Kit

Has it really come to this? A music video that captures the angst and alienation of our screen-based lives. Nod along in recognition to scenes of social-media suckage, text-based breakups, and ignoring seniors who don’t know how to use technology.

Concept and creative by Sean Wells.

This Is a Generic Presidential Campaign Ad — Media Kit

This Is a Generic Presidential Campaign Ad
As the 2016 presidential election cycle has progressed, dozens of candidates have released their campaign ads. And though there are a few differences from the left wing to the right, they have a lot in common. In fact, these predictable, formulaic approaches to video editing have drawn comparisons to our own all-purpose corporate promo, This Is a Generic Brand Video, written by Kendra Eash.

We didn’t think it fair that media commentators had to reference our corporate video — why not give them an actual generic campaign ad? So we asked Kendra to provide her wry, absurdist take on presidential promotion. The result is a blatantly pandering, verbally vacuous piece of political parody.

Turnsmile — Media Kit

Turnsmile from Dissolve on Vimeo.

They turn … they see you … and they smile. Even through a screen, these gestures make us feel acknowledged, special, likable — and more open to the smiler’s message. No wonder the turn-and-smile has long been a favorite of advertisers. So sit back and bask in the feels as your presence gets celebrated over and over again in this hypnotic reel of happy recognition. Minus the sales pitches.

Faux Shows — Media Kit

Faux Shows
Believe it or not, a lot of people still watch major-network TV. We took a break from watching Netflix, HBO, and Vimeo On Demand to ask our sources at a major broadcasting corporation what’s on tap for fall 2015. They leaked us this exclusive preview reel, featuring generic genres, tried-and-true tropes, stereotypical characters, and can’t-miss casting. We smell syndication!

7 Things I Learned in 7 Years of Reading, Writing, and Living
How do you keep your center solid as you continue to evolve? When Brain Pickings turned 7, Maria Popova stopped to consider that question. Her labor of love had grown from a weekly email she sent to seven friends to a treasure trove of curiosities, creativity, and inspiration beloved by millions. What did she learn in that time? In 7 Things I Learned in 7 Years of Reading, Writing, and Living, Maria shares her reflections on living a life that fulfills your heart, mind, and spirit.

Adapted from Maria Popova’s October 2013 essay. From the original essay: “I share these here not because they apply to every life and offer some sort of blueprint to existence, but in the hope that they might benefit your own journey in some small way.”
